It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of DeWayne Battle, who was born on February 3, 1942, in Monroe, Louisiana. DeWayne peacefully passed away on August 6, 2024.

DeWayne was the beloved child of Fredrick Wilson and Dorthy Battle. DeWayne leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories with his four children: Vera Nash (spouse Anthony Nash) whom proceeded him in death. Kenyatta Battle, Dewayne Battle Jr, and Stephanie Battle.

DeWayne was a loving and devoted parent, always putting his family first. He was a source of strength and wisdom for his children, and his presence will be deeply missed.

In addition to his children, DeWayne is survived by three cherished grandchildren. Erica Jones, James Battle and Charmetta Nash. Along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

DeWayne will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to his family. He leaves behind a void that can never be filled, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

May he rest in peace.
