Destiny Chanel Howard, 30, of Burnsville died suddenly on Monday.
Born October 28, 1992, in Joliet, Lindsey graduated from Reed-Custer High School with the class of 2011 and also received her license in cosmetology. She previously worked for Sports Clips in Bradley and most recently managed Honey Cuts in Mokena.
Destiny had a colorful spirit and an amazing soul. She would do anything for her one amazing child, Kane. She was a remarkable mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, companion, aunt, cousin, and friend who loved fiercely, and whose spirit will never be forgotten.
Surviving are her father and step-mother, Delbert and Julie Howard of Joliet; mother, Liz Roy of Bursnville; one beloved son, Kane Michael William Gaines; fiancé, Cody Hartley of Minneapolis; brother, Donald Howard (Jordan Williams) Murphy of Gooselake and their children, Donald Lester Howard, Jr., and Remington Marie Howard; maternal grandmother, Beverly May (Greg) Roy-Lloyd of Shadow Lakes; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Lester Allen Roy.
Visitation for Lindsey will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood, beginning at noon on Wednsday, December 21. Visitation will run until the time of funeral services at 5 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
