Derrell Lee Odums, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 5, 2024, in Euless, Texas, United States. He was born on January 16, 1970, to Lee Franklin and Hattie M. Franklin.

Derrell married the love of his life, Mona Yaringa, in 2022, and they lived happily together until his death. He has three children: Sharlexia Harris, Jarmar Jackson, and Yar Sylvester. He was also a proud grandfather to three grandchildren. He leaves to cherish three siblings Calvin Odums (Los Angeles, CA), Pauline Perot (Natchitoches, LA), and Lola Odums ( Natchitoches, LA), and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Derrell attended Natchitoches Central High School and graduated in 1988. He had a passion for fishing, biking, music, and old-school cars.

He's preceded in death by his mother Hattie M. Franklin.

Derrell will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
