Derek Dangerfield of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 59. He was born on January 10, 1967, to his loving mother Phyllis Dangerfield.

Derek is survived by his two sisters, Gretchen Sykes & Ginea Dillahunt as well as four children, Deidre’ Dangerfield, Dr. Derek T. Dangerfield Jr., Dominic Dangerfield, and Dereka Dangerfield. He was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren.

Derek attended Southwestern High School and graduated in 1986. He was known for his sense of humor and infectious laugh that could light up any room. In his free time, Derek enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, and cooking on the grill. Tragically, Derek's life was cut short due to a senseless act of violence. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but they will always remember him for his zest for life.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial instead of a traditional funeral held on Friday, January 30th, 2026 for the immediate family. Please contact Gretchen Sykes for details as it is a private event. There will be a seperate memorial held on saturday January 31, 2026 for friends.
