Lenz, DerekDerek A. Lenz, age 26, New London, died on Saturday, October 22, 2016, as the result of a tragic accident. He was born on February 26, 1990 in New London. Derek enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his friends. He worked as a concrete finisher for Wolf River Concrete.Derek was a fierce friend and person, never to do anything halfway. He was beloved by so many. Derek had one of the most contagious smiles and it was on his face often. He had many traits that inspired his friends and family to have fun and try to be carefree.Derek is survived by his father, Allan (Lucie) Lenz, New London; mother Kristy Olson, Weyauwega; girlfriend Selena Fischer, (her children, Cody and Hawkin) Waupaca; brothers and sisters, Jason (Crystal) Lenz, Neenah; Keegan Bockin, Weyauwega; Faith Lenz, New London; Hope Lenz, New London; Jamie (William) Gossett, Kentucky; and Brittany Bockin, Minnesota; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Alice Lenz, New London; maternal grandparents, Neil and Donna Morey, Fremont; and ex-stepfather, Kyle Bockin. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by a brother Dakota; an uncle Ryan; an aunt Vickie; and a cousin Shad.Funeral services for Derek will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London with Rev. Jason Oakland officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial is being established.Although his death was tragic, Derek helped to improve many other peoples lives by being an organ donor.
