Derek Calhoun, age 45, passed away on July 31st, 2024. He resided in Ruskin, Florida. Born and raised in West Virginia, Derek leaves behind his spouse Brandy Calhoun, his daughters Megan Everett, Mikayla Calhoun, and his son Bryan Calhoun. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Savannah Everett, Aubrey Everett, and Easton Price. He is survived by his mother Jesse Fay Calhoun and his brother Jared Calhoun.

Derek dedicated 20 years of his life to serving in the military, with 5 years in the Navy and 15 years in the Coast Guard. He achieved his goal of obtaining his Bachelor's degree before retiring in March of 2019. In his final years, Derek worked as an outside sales representative at United Rentals, a job he loved and cherished deeply.

Known for his selflessness and kind heart, Derek was always willing to help those in need and was a pillar of strength for his family and friends. He will be remembered as a devoted son, father, husband, grandfather, and friend.

Derek's unexpected passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him. In his memory, his family asks that you find happiness in the memories shared with Derek. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
