Dennis Greeson, 68, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed on May 31, 2023. Dennis was born on October 25, 1954.
We are sad to announce the passing of Dennis Greeson. He passed suddenly and unexpectedly Wednesday evening. We are mourning the loss of our brother, dad, uncle, grandpa, and great-grandpa. Dennis was born in Hutchinson, Kansas and moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas with his mom, dad, and brother Randy. An Eagle Scout as a boy later graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1972. He worked in several Dillons grocery stores, just like his dad. As time went on, he moved to Springfield, Mo where he lived until 2009, and up until his death, he lived in Northwest Arkansas. He was a long time volunteer fireman while in the Springfield area. He was an avid Nascar fan. You might remember him for his big red “box” trailer that he took to Talladega yearly. He was the mastermind behind his infamous “Talladega Cheese Dip.” When he wasn’t watching Nascar, he was mowing, boating, and causing a ruckus wherever he could! He loved his family dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Denwoord, and also his nephew, Matthew Greeson. Along with being preceded in death by his beloved yellow lab, Sydney (and several other animals he loved through the years). He is survived by A daughter, Amber Horton, and husband Rob Horton, of Morrow, AR. A son, Ryan Greeson, of Morrisville, Mo. Granddaughters, Ashton (Dakota) Mosley of Bolivar, Mo, and Meghan and Macy Greeson of Morrisville, Mo. A grandson, Cody Sandusky, of Morrow, AR. A brother, Randy, and wife Phyllis, of Rochester MN. He had several great grandchildren, cousins, and friends who he left behind. We hope everyone remembers Dennis with a warm heart and a bowl of Talladega dip, like we will. The checkered flag is waving and Sydney is ready for a walk. You’ve won the ultimate race, Papa. We love you and will miss you dearly.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to your local animal shelter in Dennis’ memory.
