Denise (Boal) HudsonOf Urbandale, IowaDenise Hudson, age 64, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at her home. Denise was born on March 20, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa.Denise had a passion for helping others and worked as a substance abuse counselor at Powell Chemical Dependency Center for many years, where she made a tremendous impact on many people. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving daughters, Laura (Kruno) Vranjesevic and Sarah Hudson; grandchildren, Mary Lou "Lulu" and Leonardo; siblings, Elaine Harris, Marcia (Mark) Cohan, and Doug Boal; her beloved niece Christine Van Keuren (DJ); her best friend, Brian Bemisdarfer; and a host of loving extended family and friends.Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Charlotte Boal; and brother, Gregory Boal.Visitation will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2017, with funeral service following at 6 p.m., at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
