Denise Angelica Miller (nee DeWindt) passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, while vacationing in Costa Rica. On August 10, 1956, she was born to Lawrence Cornelius DeWindt and Lola Almina DeWindt. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and has resided in Queens since 1979. Denise was educated at St. John the Baptist Parish School, then attended John Dewy High School. She worked as a Window Clerk for the United States Postal Service, retiring after 37 years of service. She was one of the first black women to own and open a comic book store in Queens in the 1990s. 

Denise spent most evenings listening to jazz at Lincoln Center or attending performances at Columbus Circle. She was an avid traveler, she enjoyed the island beaches and collecting unique seashells. Denise was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, and she was a loyal sister and friend.

She is survived by her sons Harvey L. Miller III and Denzel D. Dellahoussaye, sister Adrian M. DeWindt-King, granddaughter Aysiah-Imani Miller, nephew Stanley O. King II (Kera), and niece Stephanie N King, and many relatives.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating her life on April 1st 2022 at 1pm located in the Brooklyn Bank.
