Denis Johnson-Payton, 65, of Warren, Michigan, passed on January 26, 2022. Denise was born to Jacqueline Delores Hudson and Charles Johnson on September 14, 1956 in Cook County, Chicago, Illinois.

Denise was the sixth child born of fourteen children to Jacqueline Delores Hudson. Family members who preceded her in death: Jacqueline Delores Hudson (Mother), Elizabeth (sister), Willie Bonds( Great- Grandmother), Mario Booker(nephew), Elizabeth Ann Witherspoon (Grandmother), Dora Johnson ( Great Aunt), & Christine( Aunt) & Albert (Uncle).

Denise was raised in Chicago, Illinois for most of her life. She met Albert Payton, ( A Chicago Firefighter) and they were married April 21, 1982. She began her life as a wife & homemaker. Denise was a loving daughter, wife, sister, auntie, cousin, friend, & hostess and everyone loved to go over Denise and Poochie’s house. Years later she moved from Chicago to Detroit, Michigan in 1990 to be closer to her mother and siblings.

Denise accepted Christ as her savior in recent years. Two years ago Denise began battling cancer and as result her health began to decline. Denise loved to stay home and take care her family. Denise did her own hair and sometimes others hair in her spare time. Her hobbies included playing cards, crocheting and board games.
