DeNetta PacePetrolia, TXDeNetta Jean Pace, 73, of Petrolia, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017.Memorial services will be held at 3:00PM, Saturday, January 7, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Byers with Rev. Ken Johanan officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. A daughter of the late Alene (Wilkins) and Langford McCracken, DeNetta was born on April 17, 1943, in Hamlin, Texas. She graduated Hamlin High School. She and Glenn Pace were married on February 14, 1976, in Abilene, Texas. DeNetta worked in the deli at United on Jacksboro Highway for over twenty years and was lovingly known by all of her friends and customers there as "Grandma". She was a member of First Baptist Church of Byers where she was involved in many activities including filling and sending Christmas stockings to children in South Texas. In anticipation of next Christmas, DeNetta had already purchased more than fifty stockings for the children. DeNetta loved going to the casinos with her friends, and she adored her children and grandchildren.Along with her parents, DeNetta was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Pace. She is survived by sons, Robert Pace and wife, Tessa of Abilene, TX; and Ray Pace and wife, Julie of Wichita Falls; brother, Brett McCracken and wife, Debra; sister, Janice Sikes, all of Abilene, TX; grandchildren, Ty Cannedy, Ashlynn Pace, Lauren Baker, Cami Pace and Blake Pace; several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and her lifelong friend, Melba Glasscock.The family would like to thank Mitchell Vietenheimer, and Tilly and Tony Fox for their unconditional love and care for DeNetta throughout the years.For those desiring, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310 or First Baptist Church of Byers.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lunnscolonial.com.
