Delia L. (Pavia) Valentine, 87, a native of Berlin Township and formerly of Redford and Detroit, Michigan, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2017. Born on April 20, 1922 in Plains Township, she was a daughter of the late, Leonard (Leo) and Lucille (Coccia) Pavia. She and her husband, Eugene (Geno) Valentine, a native of Berlin, resided in Detroit from 1954 to 1975 and later Redford,
Delia and her husband, Eugene (Geno) Valentine, a native of Berlin, resided in Detroit from 1954 to 1975 and later Redford, Mich.. Mrs. Valentine’s main interest in life was caring for her home and family. She enjoyed gardening and will especially be remembered for her talent of cooking and baking. She had been a member of St. Mary’s of Redford Church, Detroit, for many years and was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society earlier in life.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Art, Felix and Edward Pavia. Surviving is her husband of 64 years, Eugene (Geno) Valentine; sons, Eugene Valentine, Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and Leonard Valentine and his wife, Maggie; grandchildren, Anthony Valentine and his wife, Katie; Christina, Julianne and Jane Valentine; Gina Crouch and her husband, Matt, Jaclyn Denton and her husband, Blake, and Leo and Steven Valentine; a sister-in-law, Ida Valentine, Hanover Township; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin on Friday at 10:30 a.m. from Burbage Funeral Home, 108 Williams Street, Berlin, MD, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John Neumann Church, 11211 Beauchamp Rd., Berlin MD.
