Deirdre O. ManleyJanuary 18, 1925 - June 07, 2017VisaliaDeirdre O. Manley, age 92, of Visalia, CA passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 7, 2017. Dee was surrounded by her loving family, as she left this world to be with her heavenly Father.Dee was born on January 18, 1925 in Fargo ND, was raised by her maternal grandparents in Saskatchewan, Canada, married and had children in British Columbia, Canada and then moved back to the states (California) in 1960 with family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Chambers and her second husband, Felix Manley.Dee is survived by her son William Chambers and wife Yolanda, her daughter Maureen Otterson and husband Dennis, as well as three grandchildren; James Nevarez and wife Sandy, Thomas Nevarez and wife Kim, and Angel Chambers, seven great-grandchildren - Madison, Cassandra, Monica, Brandon, William, Xander, and Max, sister Judy Casey-Lahr, numerous nieces and nephews. During her life she had various careers, but the one role she treasured most was that of mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was extremely creative and loved knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and oil painting. She enjoyed making and giving these as gifts for family and friends. She was also an excellent cook and baker of goodies, famously known for her chocolate chip cookies, Christmas plum pudding, brandy wrapped fruitcakes, and buttery shortbread. Family dinners of her homemade lasagna will always be remembered.She will be dearly remembered for her faithfulness in serving the Lord and her tireless work and service to St. Paul's Anglican Church, her church community and various church groups including: The Daughters of the King, Saint Mary's Guild, Saint Mary Agnes Guild (Guild Leader) and ECW Board. The family would like to say a special thank you to Linwood Meadows, for the loving and compassionate care they provided during her last few years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.A funeral mass will be held on July 8, 2017 at 10:00am in the chapel at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 120 N. Hall Street, Visalia, CA. A burial service will be held on August 12, 2017 at 9:00am at Episcopal Conference Center Oakhurst, 43803 Highway, Oakhurst, CA In lieu of flowers, those choosing to honor Dee's life are encouraged to donate to St. Paul's Anglican Church.
