We are saddened to announce the passing of Deborah Carpenter, born on February 20, 2025, in Altadena, California. Deborah, loving mother of Patrice Hearts and Darrin Hearns, and beloved daughter of Catheline Devine, passed away on January 18, 2026.

Despite her brief time with us, Deborah made a lasting impact during her career as a Secretary for the state. Her dedication to her work and her warm personality will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Deborah leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, and is survived by her two children and ten adoring grandchildren. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
