Dean William JacobsonCamarillo, CADean William Jacobson of Camarillo, passed away on January 20th, 2017 due to complications from dementia. His family visited him often at the residential care home in Camarillo where he lived for the two years preceding his passing.Dean was born on August 6, 1934 in Virginia Minnesota to William and Orletta Jacobson. Growing up, Dean enjoyed duck hunting with friends at Kabetogama Lake in Minnesota, and swimming and house boating on the St. Croix River. He also fished and hunted at his friend Jack Grande's cabin on Pelican Lake in Orr, MN. Later, Dean brought his own family to the cabin where they enjoyed many wonderful summer vacations together. Dean went to college in Mankato, Minnesota and earned a degree in business. Then, in 1969, he married Mary June Moet of Sibley Iowa, had two children, and worked for State Farm Insurance for forty years to support his family. Dean enjoyed golfing and trapshooting, and was a member at Oak Tree Gun Club in Newhall, California. He could often be found playing pool and reloading shotgun shells in his garage while watching TV and smoking cigars.Dean had a strong work ethic, a good sense of humor, and spent very little time being idle. He was good at fixing things around the house, and as a father he encouraged his children Brad and Jennifer to go to college for he believed that earning a degree was an essential step toward a successful career. Dean is survived by his sister Jill Lund, wife Mary Jacobson, son Brad Jacobson, daughter Jennifer Jones, son-in-law Greg Jones, and granddaughters Summer and Holly Jones.
