Dawn Shearin Taylor of 910 Marshall St, Roanoke Rapids, NC, died Friday, September 27, 2019 at Liberty Commons Nursing Home in Weldon, NC. She was born in southern Va. to Frank V and Betty Nicholson Shearin on June 10, 1930.
Dawn was known for her curling hair, twinkling eyes, and beautiful smile—also as a loving homemaker and an exceptional cook.
She dedicated her life to Jehovah God and was baptized on August 3, 1952. She followed Christ’s example and served as a “faithful and true witness” for some 67 years. (Rev. 3:14)
She also was a beloved wife of 72 years, mother, sister, and friend who will surely be missed by everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Fleming Bobbitt and Franklin, Kenneth, and Grady Shearin.
She is survived by her husband, Kirk L Tayor, Jr, of the home, children Dawn T Sewell (Kirk) of Beckley, WV, Kirk L Taylor, lll (Wanda) of Henderson, NC, and Stephen R Tayor (Amy) of Wake Forest, NC. Also by 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild soon to be born, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
