David Neil BossermanShreveport, LA - David Neil Bosserman passed away on October 31, 2017 at home surrounded by family and friends after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 19, 1952 in Sharon, Connecticut and was the youngest son of Marcia Soule Bosserman and George M. Bosserman. Mr. Bosserman grew up in the small New England town of Kent, Connecticut. He attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and upon graduation and pilot training completion was assigned to Barksdale Air Force Base in 1976 in Bossier City, LA. After completion of his active duty, he continued in the Air Force Reserves and retired as Lt. Colonel in 1999. In addition, he was a pilot for Federal Express for 29 years and retired in 2012.Mr. Bosserman is preceded in death by his parents, Marcia Soule Bosserman and George M. Bosserman. He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Blackwell Doughty Bosserman; son, Brad Bosserman and wife, Natsumi and grandson, David Akira Bosserman; stepson, Jeffrey Doughty and wife, Sara and step grandsons, Cameron, Kai and Espyn; brother, Bruce Bosserman and wife, Lee, and niece Mariel Bosserman; and brother-in-law, John W. Blackwell.A memorial service will be held on November 11, 2017 beginning at 10:00 am at Christ United Methodist Church with Reverend Kaylan Walker officiating. Interment of ashes will be at the U.S. Air Force Academy Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado at a later date.The family would like to offer their appreciation and thanks to Dr. Anil Veluvolu, Willis Knighton Cancer Center; Amedisys Hospice; and Preferred Care at Home.
