David Michael Gentry (Dave), 64, passed away on October 7, 2016 at McLaren Hospital in Oakland County, MI. He was born on December 30, 1951 in Hill City Air Force Base, Utah, to Dr. Kale and Shirley (Morehouse) Gentry (now passed). He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Kay Gentry, his father, Dr. Kale C. Gentry and step-mother, Donna Gentry, two daughters, Lisa Gentry Swedo and Jennifer Gentry; four grandchildren; Mia Grace Swedo, 9, Sienna Avery Swedo, 7, Robert Gregory Swedo, 5, and Harper Rose Wilson, 4, step-sister, Julie Samuelson, and step-brother Barry Nicholson. He was preceded in death by his two brothers; Douglas Allen Gentry and Mark Gentry. He was in the Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) in high school and received a full scholarship to the University of Kansas (KU). He earned his M.B.A. from the University of Kansas and quickly passed his C.P.A. Exam. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1974 to 1980, starting as a 2nd Lieutenant and ending as a Captain. He worked in and was a trusted employee in Accounting and Finances until retiring in 2014.
