David Marc Near David Marc Near (43) passed away on July 11, 2017 of a heart attack while working on the SS Ocean Phoenix in Alaska. David was born on May 6, 1974 in Helena, Montana to Toinette (Gish) and Ronald M. Near. He graduated from Olympia High School, and then, Washington State University with a Biochemistry/Biophysics degree. He worked for Schreiber's Food in Salt Lake City and Phoenix, econoLABS in Denver, Kellogg's in Allyn, and Premier Pacific Foods out of Seattle on the Bering Sea. He married Robbi Foutch on February 27, 1997 in Colfax and they had two beautiful sons. David was an avid wrestler and enjoyed helping out with the Olympia Wrestling club. His life was dedicated to his two boys. He spent his time teaching them sports, archery, and marksmanship; as well as, having long conversations with them about life. Holding his memories are his wife Robbi of Lacey and their two sons Tristan and Nick, his mother Toinette of Olympia, his sister Victoria of Albuquerque, his brother Daniel (Denise) of Sacramento, his brother Scott (Kristine) of Puyallup, and his sister Rebecca of Lacey. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald and his brother Eric. David was good friend and father to the boys. He was as tough as nails with a heart of gold. A small family gathering will take place to celebrate David's remarkable life.
