David John Smithson passed away at his home on Friday, May 17, 2024. He was the youngest of four born to Philip Smithson Jr. and Rosemary (Fisher ) Smithson. After graduating from Middleton H.S. he began working in construction.
After a few years, when he heard his brother (Bob) was moving to Florida, he decided to follow him.
Once there, he became self-employed with his own construction business. Moving on from there, he continued working in the building business until his retirement.
David was a true family man. All his life, he's always been about family. Nothing made him happier than being married with his children. He was a very hardworking, compassionate, kind, generous man. He was very quick witted and could make anyone smile or laugh with his great sense of humor.
David is survived by his wife, Monica, his amazing children: Son, Nathan (Amanda) Smithson, Daughters: Jenna (Dave) Novak; Summer (Ben) Parcells; Mother: Rosemary Smithson, Sister: RoseMarie (Ron Dresen),Brother: Mike (Tami)Smithson. Uncle Babe (Ann), Aunt Elaine and many Nieces, Nephews and cousins. Awesome Grandchildren, Elijah, Ty, Jonah, Maliki, Anthony, Ava, Aubrey, Aurora, and Tommy. David was preceded in death by his Father, Philip Smithson Jr., Brother, Robert (Bob) Smithson. Grandparents: Rose (Buenzli) Larson, Wayne Fisher, Philip Smithson Sr., Ellen (Barnacastle ) Fields. Uncles: Louis Smithson,Wayne (Bub) Fisher, Fin Fisher, Joe Harrington. Aunts: Beverly Haas, Virginia (Ginny ) White, Judi Harrington, Grace Hines, Virginia (Nance) Cutrell, Annette Smithson.
One Christmas David was gifted a Vintage MG Convertible Roadster. He loved that car and with it, took great pride and joy. He loved cruising around the neighborhood often taking his kids & Grandkids for rides whenever he could. Many who saw him smiled, waved & he often stopped to talk with admirers.
