Daniel Arthur "Dan" WilhelmDaniel Arthur "Dan" Wilhelm, Junior died at home on January 30, 2017 in Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 57.Dan is survived by his wife, Barbara Maxey Wilhelm; brothers, Scott Wilhelm (fiancé Jeananne Jennings) and Robert Wilhelm; sister, Kathleen Wilhelm; step-daughter Dana Rowzee Wilson (husband Scott Wilson); step-son Alan Rowzee; and step-mother Judith Wilhelm. He is preceded in death by his father Dr. Daniel Arthur Wilhelm, Sr., mother Dorthy Jane Yeoman and sister Elizabeth Wilhelm. Dan was born on March 22, 1959 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to Dr. Daniel Arthur Wilhelm, Sr. and Dorthy Jane Yeoman. He graduated from Northwestern State University in 1980 with a Bachelor in Science. He joined the U.S. Air Force after graduation where he trained as a surgical technician. After leaving the Air Force he worked as a surgical first assistant contractor for multiple Shreveport area hospitals. He married his wife Barbara in 2008 at their home in Frierson, Louisiana. After moving to Shreveport, Louisiana in 2011 he began his own landscape rehabilitation company. Dan was a semi-pro bass fisherman and an accomplished and avid hunter. He was passionate about sharing his love for all things hunting. His black lab, Maggie, was his favorite hunting partner. A Memorial service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dan's life.
