Dana C. ParsonsPort St. Lucie, FLDana C Parsons, age 79 of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017. Dana was born on August 12, 1937 in Gloucester, MA to the late Russell and Lucy Parsons. Dana came to Port Saint Lucie, Florida from Gloucester, MA in 2005. He worked as a Telephone Lineman retiring after 30 years and at a Local Hardware Store for 13 years. He is a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in Post war Korea and State side. Dana attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. He was also a life member of Knights of Columbus and a member of Fort Pierce Elks Lodge Post 1520. Dana was an avid golfer, member of Rockport Golf Club and St. James Golf Club and enjoyed salt water fishing. Dana is preceded in death by his brother, Russell Parsons, Jr. and wife, Nancy; Brother-in-law, Francis Degnan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Carol (Azevedo) Parsons; sons, Stephen (Emma), Jeffery (Dawn); daughter, Amy O'Dea (fiance, Mark Traynor); grandchildren, Stephen, Joshua, Jonathan, Matthew, Christopher Parsons and Sean and Alicia O'Dea; great-grandchildren, Haley and Zachary; sister, Justine Quinn (David); sister In-law, Mary Degnan; sister In-law, Margaret Harvey (Tom) and sister In-law, Sally Tarr (John). A memorial mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 11 am. A private burial will take place in Gloucester, MA.
