Dale Gaalaas of Innisfail passed away on April 17, 2015 at the age of 77 years. Dale was born on November 23, 1937 to Madeleine & Orvild Gaalaas in Camrose, AB. He spent his working years in the oil and gas industry with Hudson Bay Oil & Gas, Dome Petroleum and BP Amoco Canada. Dale taught at Red Deer College and worked in Nigeria teaching math, science and oil and gas. He was a master with his hands. If you could think it up he could build it. Dale worked in metal, wood, welding, iron railing, stone masonry, building trailers or designing any of the above. He always said he relaxed by working. Dale was happiest hunting, fishing or driving around in his beloved truck "Clyde" or playing his piano.Dale is survived by his common law wife of 28 years Linda Housman, his son Shane, Shane's mother Carol and step children Aaron (Belinda) Fearnley, Carmen Fearnley and Sarah (Michael) Hardage, his siblings Gary (Lois) Gaalaas, Wayne (Marlene) Gaalaas, Fay Sollid and Diane Burnett, sister in law Eva Gaalaas and step brother Donald (Cheryl) Bentley. He is predeceased by his parents and brother Allan Gaalaas. A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Innisfail Library Learning Centre Community Room at 2:00pm.
