Cynthia Skelton, began her earthly journey on July 9, 1954, to the late Herman Benjamin & Catherine Gaines, and transitioned from this world peacefully on May 18, 2024 at White House Healthcare Center in Orange, New Jersey.

Cynthia was married to the late James N. Skelton in 1975 and they were blessed with one child, Sadiqa Parker.

She attended Barringer High School and graduated in 1972. She went on to work at Gino's Restaurant in Newark, NJ, where she formed many lasting friends.

One of Cynthia's favorite hobbies was sewing. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed creating beautiful garments for her loved ones & friends. Her attention to detail and creative flair was evident in all of her work.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Herman Benjamin & Catherine Gaines and one sister Angela Gaines.

Cynthia’s wonderful memories will forever be cherished by her loving & devoted daughter Sadiqa Parker, grandchildren Rahsahn Jones, Ziera Shade, Ayanna Shade, nieces, Lateefah Little, Asia Kemp (Lavar), Karissa Gaines, seven great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Cynthia will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
