Curtis Larry was born June 30, 1947 in Bay Springs (Jasper County), Mississippi to Martin and Kathleen Larry. He was born into a large loving family. He was blessed with a little sister, Gwendolyn Larry (Magby).
Curtis attended and graduated from Farragut High School in Chicago, Illinois; although he was very intelligent, college was not his ambition, he joined the United States Army.
After returning home from the United States Army he met, fell in love in May 1969, married Addie Robinson and created three beautiful children…As a Proud father he welcomed his only born son: Shaun Martin, following with his blessed first daughter: Lana Lynette and finally to their surprise welcomed his delightful babygirl: Kathleen Delores “Deedee”.
He moved from Chicago, Illinois and made his roots in Houston, Texas October 1970 with his family. For over thirty years, Curtis worked and retired from the Amtrak Railroad. As a strong black man he had high expectations for his family to do the right thing, no matter what the cost…He taught his family that hard work, honesty, the Lord and dedication was the way to be successful in this world.
Curtis was an avid reader, he loved history books, collecting coins, playing the stock market, coffee, music, amateur photographer, genealogy: researching his family roots and a love of life.
