Constance Lee Criscuolo, (maiden name Norley,) age 86, passed away peacefully at Spring Arbor Memory Care on February 10, 2024 with family by her side.
She was born September 13, 1937 in Washington, DC, to Dorothy Batcher (Norley) and William Henry Norley. Dorothy & William eventually divorced and Constance went to live with her mother, while her brother Ronald remained with their father. Constance grew up in Washington, DC, graduating from Calvin Coolidge High School and earning a bachelor’s degree from American University.
In the 1970’s she earned a master’s degree in psychology from George Mason University and became a computer specialist in the early days of the internet working at the Howard Hughes Medical Center, the Council on Environmental Quality, and the National Science Foundation.
After retirement she had time to develop her artistic talents creating fascinating collages, paintings, and quilts. She was active in many organizations including the Fredericksburg Spinners and Weavers Guild, Mary Washington Elderstudy, and the Fredericksburg Center for Creative Arts. She was also a lifelong gardener.
Constance was a wonderful, loving, and attentive mother and grandmother who took great joy in making her family happy. She is survived by her two children, Peter Conrad and Lee Marie; her brother, Ronald; and her two grandchildren, Kelly Marie and Robin Theresa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerard Peter Criscuolo, who was a career Marine Corps officer; and by her parents.
Though afflicted with increasing dementia the last several years of her life, Constance never lost her personality, her sense of humor, or her love for her family.
