W. Clyde Thompson was born on September 28, 1943 in Wenatchee, Washington to Meryle & Wesley Thompson. He graduated from Wenatchee HS and attended Central Washington University where he received his Bachelors Degree. It was there that he met his wife Julie, who was attending Central for her Bachelors Degree as well. Clyde and Julie were married on June 15, 1974 in Port Townsend Washington, and resided in Bremerton.
It was in Bremerton, where Clyde started working at Ernst Hardware in the paint department, where he developed a clientele who adored him dearly and would request him by name. After many years of service, Clyde left there to pursue his dreams of becoming a writer. He joined various writers groups and wrote many short stories and poems. Writing was his true passion! His love of arts had him very active with the Bremerton Community Theatre where he would help with staging and prop set up. He also starred in a few productions there as well. Clyde also had a love for Egyptology and history. Due to his vast knowledge, he was asked to provide his insight on the subject which led to the production of a few books by various authors.
In February of 1982, Clyde and Julie adopted their only daughter, Amber from South Korea. Clyde loved being a Husband, Father, and Papa. He couldn't have been more proud of his grandchildren and their accomplishments. He always had a photo handy, and was eager to tell anyone he met all about them. Clyde was an amazing Husband, Father, Papa, and Friend. He filled so many lives with love, laughter, and friendship. He will be truly missed by all.
