Clifford R. Mercier Sr. of Wilber Township passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 in Auburn Hills, age 83 years. Clifford was born on Sept. 29, 1928. He retired from General Motors Corporation after many years. He was a faithful parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas and was a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 2709 in East Tawas. Clifford is survived by his lovely wife of 62 years, Patricia (Keeley) Mercier; his three sons, Raymond (Carol) Mercier, Duane (Dolores) Mercier and Clifford Jr. (Jenny) Mercier; six grandchildren, Christina Wood, Nathan Mercier, Angela Neef, Brenten Mercier, Steven Mercier and Chelsea Mercier; 10 great grandchildren; and many dear friends. A funeral mass is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas with Father Don Geyman and Father Charles Donajkowski officiating. His family will welcome friends at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass. The Knights of Columbus will lead the Rosary prayer at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow the funeral and a fellowship dinner will be served at the church in his honor.
