Beloved Father & Grandpa

Cleveland Williams

June 10, 1937 - December 2, 2024

Cleveland Williams, beloved father, grandfather, and pillar of his community, peacefully departed this life on December 2, 2024, at the age of 87. Born in Monroe, Georgia, Mr. Williams was a man of deep faith and unwavering dedication to family and farming, whose life touched countless hearts in his community.

Born on June 10, 1937, in Monroe, GA, Cleveland dedicated his life to working the land, understanding that farming was not just an occupation but a sacred responsibility to feed and sustain his community. His deepest calling was his service to the Lord at Appalahee Shoals Missionary Baptist Church in Bethlehem, Georgia, where he served faithfully as both Elder and Deacon. For many years, he touched countless lives as a Sunday school teacher, sharing his wisdom and deep understanding of scripture with generations of churchgoers.

His marriage to the late Eliza Mae Good-Williams was a testament to enduring love and partnership that lasted until her passing. Together, they raised a remarkable family of thirteen children, creating a legacy of love, faith, and hard work that continues to influence generations.

Cleveland was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eliza Mae Good-Williams, and ten of their precious children, whose memories he carried in his heart until his final days. He is survived by his loving children Peggy Williams, Linda Towler, and Charlie Williams, along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were blessed to know his wisdom, kindness, and strength of character.

Throughout his life, Cleveland exemplified the values of perseverance, humility, and service to others. His weathered hands told the story of countless dawns spent tending to his crops, while his gentle spirit revealed a man who found joy in simple blessings and family gatherings. His dual roles as Elder and Deacon demonstrated his commitment to spiritual leadership, while his years of Sunday school teaching showed his dedication to nurturing the faith of others.
