YORK Cleo D. "Sweetie" (Eckenrode) Brenneman, 84, of York, who was formerly of York New Salem, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clyde H. Brenneman who passed away in 1986. Following cremation, a celebration of Cleo's life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 397 Tyler Run Road, York, with her pastor, the Rev. Paul W. Baughman, officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. There will be no viewing and burial will be at the convenience of the family. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Mrs. Brenneman was born on August 11, 1930 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Meade T. and Edna P. (Albright) Eckenrode. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she served as a greeter and she was a former member of Zion Shaffers United Lutheran Church, Seven Valleys. She was also a member of the Dallastown American Legion Post #605. Cleo leaves a daughter, Debbie S. Hemmann and her husband David of Dover; two sons, Jeffery L. Brenneman and his wife Karen of York and Dennis E. Brenneman and his wife Pam of Red Lion; 5 grandchildren, Melissa Stafford and husband Bill, Jeffery Brenneman Jr and wife Lea, Eric Brenneman and wife Ashley, Joshua Hermmann and wife Stephanie and Nicole Williams and husband Richard; 11 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson; and a sister Gail R. Guynn of Manchester; a brother, Wayne C.
