Clement Elve Hudson Jr., 73, passed away on October 7, 2017 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born on January 13, 1944 in Deming, New Mexico to Clement and Minnie (Gann) Hudson.Clem is lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Mary Diane Hudson; his son, Clement D. Hudson and his wife, Stephanie Hudson; his daughter, Tracy Lambert and her husband Matthew Lambert; his grandchildren, Christopher Lambert, Alexandra Estrada and her husband Kyle Estrada, Ericka Lambert, Samantha Henderson, Brian Lambert, Jacob Lopez, Clement J. Hudson, Joshua Lopez, Travis Hudson, Megan Lambert, Alissa Hudson, and Wesley Hudson; his great grandchildren, Kasen Estrada and Adalynn Estrada; his brother Quenton Hudson and his wife Carol Hudson; his sister Nettie Barde; and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Clement B. Hudson; his mother, Minnie Hudson; and his daughter, Aaron Gutierrez.Clem was born in Deming, New Mexico and raised in Silver City, New Mexico. He met the love of his life, Mary, while in high school. They were married on May 7, 1966. He attended Western New Mexico University on a track scholarship and even went to California for the Olympic trials for the one mile run in 1967. He graduated from Western New Mexico University with a bachelor's degree in math and education and a master's degree in math. While he was earning his master's degree he began his career of being a teacher and coach. Clem taught in multiple schools all over the state of New Mexico until he settled down in Tularosa; there he taught for over 30 years. Over the span of 44 years teaching he influenced thousands of young lives.During his retirement he went back to college and dove into his love of art, creating beautiful paintings and sketches. Some of his paintings have been on display at New Mexico State's Art Gallery. He also continued in his hobbies or shooting, hiking, and running.Clem was a loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by so many.The memorial service to celebrate the life of Clem Hudson, aka Coach Hudson, will be held at Grace Methodist Church in Tularosa on Saturday, October 14 at 2:00 with Pastor Dustin Wilhite officiating.
