In Loving Memory of Clarence Melton
Clarence Melton, born on December 5, 1960, and sadly departed on June 12, 2026, has taken his final walk to the couch in the sky, likely searching for the remote control he lost decades ago.
Known as a dedicated son of John and Geneva Melton, Clarence spent his early life mastering the art of mischief and perfecting dad jokes, much to the delight or annoyance of those around him. He was the kind of man who could drop a punchline quicker than he could drop his car keys—if only he could remember where he put them.
A proud graduate of Murray Wright High School, Clarence took his talents to the U.S. Army, where he discovered that “camping” included more push-ups than he anticipated. His years of service shaped him into the man we are sure will inevitably negotiate great deals with heavenly beings, whether they’re selling clouds or ice cream.
Clarence leaves behind his dedicated partner, Tracy Melton, who we are sure will miss his unique ability to ignite a barbecue fire just by staring at it long enough. Together, they created a beautiful family, including two wonderful children, Melissa Roberts and Andrew Melton, who are undoubtedly rolling their eyes at the thought of their dad cracking jokes in the great beyond.
In addition to his children, Clarence was the proud grandparent of nine grandchildren. They, too, will carry on the tradition of eye-rolling and laughter, sure to haunt family gatherings for generations to come.
Clarence will be remembered for his distinctive laugh, his slightly questionable cooking experiments, and his unwavering belief that he could fix anything—even if his only tools were duct tape and optimism. He now joins that great comedy club in the sky, where the punchlines are endless and the Wi-Fi is always strong.
Rest in peace, Clarence. May your afterlife be filled with laughter, love, and the perfect burger— cooked just the way you like it (well done, just so you know). The world is a little dimmer without your shine, but we promise to keep your spirit alive with every dad joke retold.
