Clara M. Bomhardt (nee Dreyer), 93, of Glen Burnie passed away at her home on November 3, 2016. She was born on April 27, 1923 and raised at Hickory Point on Sillery Bay in Pasadena. She graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1940 and worked for McCormick & Company for 20 years. Her passion was swimming; she held both state and national records as a master swimmer and is also in the National Swimming Hall of Fame in Florida. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Bomhardt, who passed in 1977; parents, John and Elizabeth Dreyer; and her siblings, George Dreyer, Pauline Jubb, Catherine Lomp, Mamie Belt and Eugenia Kirk. She is survived by her daughter, Gale Shaffer of Manchester; granddaughter, Amberly Blizzard (Ronnie) of Manchester; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Allison Blizzard of Manchester, and James Kemp Jr. (Amy) of Hampstead; and great-great-grandchildren, James III, Hannah and Dale Kemp all of Hampstead. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service was held yesterday at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
