  • A life well lived

    Clara Darden was born on March 29, 1936 in Arkansas to the parents of Herbert and Amelia Lee who preceded her in death. At a young age she gave her life over to Christ and was a loyal member at Romulus Community Baptist Church.

    She graduated from Romulus High School in 1953. She met and married Clarence Darden and to this union they had 1 son Michael Keith Darden Sr. Clara went to work for the State of Michigan Food Service until her retirement in 1999.

    She was a devoted mother and wife for 68yrs and had a passion for sewing and styling hair, always bringing joy and flair to those around her.

    Clara was the third oldest of 7 siblings 3 sisters and 3 brothers: Herbert jr. Ernestine, Laura Dean, and LC who preceded her in death.

    She is survived by her sister Josephine (Arvis) Alexander, brother Clifford Lee Sr, her son Michael (Valerie) Darden, 3 grandchildren Malerie (Revono) Wilson, Michael Jr. and Markis Darden. She also has 7 great grandchildren Jerrell, Jayson, Angel, Jeremiah, Erin, MaKari, SaMari, a favorite niece Kaneatha McCain and a host of other family members and friends.

    She had a fantastic sense of humor in her personal life and was known for her witty jokes and infectious laughter, always brightening up any room she entered.

    Clara leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Rest in peace, grandma, you will forever be remembered with a smile on our faces.
