Chester David Huffman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and Harley enthusiast, passed away on September 3, 2024 in Hardy, Virginia at the age of 74. He was born on May 27, 1950 to Herman Fitzhugh Huffman, Sr. and Laura Virginia Reeves Brown Huffman Lucas. He was born in Roanoke, VA and was the baby of 10 children.
Chester leaves behind his two daughters, Sheri (Ken) Kroupa and Stacy Tiahrt (Dwayne Wade). He will be dearly missed by his four grandchildren, Shannon (Joseph) Wheeler, Nicholas Tiahrt (Jenn), Zachary Tiahrt (Ann), and Matthew Tiahrt (Skyler Ayers) and five great-grandchildren, Harper Wheeler, Isaac and Claire Urton, Easton and Conor Tiahrt. One brother, Frank Huffman, several special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Garland (Jim) Brown, William (Bill) Brown, Ray Brown, Rex Brown, Robert Brown, Charles Brown; two sisters, Ruth Brown Perkins, Patricia Brown Berga; and a beloved fat cat, Harley.
Chester enjoyed a long and fulfilling career at Fairfax County Water Authority, where he retired in 2000. When he wasn't working, you could find Chester riding his beloved Harley Davidson. He loved nascar, camping and spending time with family and friends.
Chester's quick wit and infectious laughter will be remembered by all who knew him. He will forever be cherished in our hearts, even as we mourn his passing from complications of dementia.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
