CROMWELL — Charlene Heintzelman, age 79, of Cromwell, Indiana, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at IU Health in Goshen, Indiana. She was born on November 26, 1935, in Elkhart, Indiana to Dr. Russel and Hazel (Irey) Horn. On April 23, 1955, she married Roger Heintzelman in Topeka, Indiana. He survives. Mrs. Heintzelman was a lifelong area resident. She owned and operated Heintzelman's Grocery in Cromwell. She was a member of the Topeka Baptist Church. Charlene enjoyed gardening, animals, and was a member of Stone's Trace Historical Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family and wintering in Florida. She is survived by her husband, Roger; her sons, Jim (Fran) Heintzelman and Jeff ( Darla) Heintzelman both of Cromwell; six grandchildren, Heather (Jason) Shearer, Andrew Heintzelman, Mary (Brandon) Kiser, Bradley Heintzelman, Tyler Heintzelman and Logan Heintzelman; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rodney Heintzelman; and seven siblings, Jim Horn, Joe Horn, Charles Horn, Wilma Bentley, Martha Wyatt, Barbara Caple and Beverly Renkenberger. A memorial service will be held in Mrs. Heintzelman's honor on Saturday, April 25, at 7 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, with Pastor Joey Nelson officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home.
