Cedric GlennAdelCedric Errol Glenn, age 79 of Adel, Iowa, passed away Friday, Dec. 30th, 2016 at the Village at Legacy Pointe, with his children at his bedside.Cedric was born on January 8th, 1937 to Harlan Glenn and Nancy (Russell) Glenn Garoutte at his boyhood home in Adel, IA.He graduated from Adel High School and was a member of the Class of 1955.He married the love of his life, Jane Louise Tomlinson, on June 7, 1958 in Adel at the First Christian Church. They shared 37 loving years before Jane's passing in March, 1996.Cedric was a 4th generation owner/operator of his family business, Russell Loan and Title Co., now known as Russell Abstract, in Adel, until his sons took over upon his retirement in 2003.Cedric was a past Elder and Board Member of the First Christian Church in Adel, a Trustee of the Thomas D. Gregg Fund, a past President and long-time member of the Adel Lions Club, and an inductee into the Drake Relays Hall of Fame as a Head Field Event Judge and Official, and a proud member of Hillcrest Country Club. Cedric was also a long time official with the Iowa High School Athletic Association in both football and track.Cedric was predeceased by his father, Harlan, mother, Nancy, and his wife, Jane. Cedric is survived by his daughter, Leslee (John) Miele of Glendale, AZ; his sons, Kent Glenn of Waukee and Brett (Cris) Glenn of Adel; his grandchildren, Pauline, Bettina, Maggie of Glendale, AZ, and Gavin and Gabbie of Adel; two great grandchildren, Sullivan and Oliver of Glendale, AZ; his brother Russell Glenn of Mesa, AZ; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that were near and dear to his heart.Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 4th, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with family present from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. All will be held at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel.Please, in lieu of flowers, consider making a memorial contribution to the Adel Lions Club in his name.Online condolences may be left at
