Catherine Sanders, beloved daughter of James and Janet Sanders, passed away on August 23, 2024 in Ft. Washington, Maryland at the age of 72. She was born on May 6, 1952.

Catherine had a passion for learning and received her education from Frank W. Ballou High School, graduating in 1970, and later went on to graduate from Towson University in 1974.

She dedicated many years of her life to teaching as a History Professor at the University of Maryland before retiring in 2016. Catherine was known for her wit and wisdom in the classroom.

Outside of work, Catherine enjoyed traveling to new places, going for a jog to clear her mind, and writing stories in her spare time. She lived life to the fullest and spread joy wherever she went.

Although Catherine did not have any children of her own, she touched the lives of many students and colleagues throughout her career.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
