It is with heavy hearts but countless memories of joy and laughter that we announce the passing of Catherine (Kathy) Owens, who gracefully left this world on January 3, 2024. Born on February 11, 1948, in Nokesville, Virginia, Kathy's vibrant spirit touched the lives of many.
As a daughter, Kathy was the pride and joy of Oliver Sr. and Fanny Gregerson - they couldn't have asked for a more loving and spirited child. Growing up in Nokesville, Kathy's infectious laughter and genuine kindness never failed to brighten anyone's day.
In 1970, Kathy married her beloved spouse, Bennie Owens, and their love story is one for the books. Their journey together was filled with adventures, laughter, and an unbreakable bond. They were partners in crime, each other's rock. Together, they built a beautiful life and nurtured an unbreakable family bond.
Kathy's legacy lives on through her two wonderful children, Adaliya Crocker and Arena Wales. Adaliya, married to Jim, and Arena, married to Slim, were Kathy's pride and joy. She cherished every moment spent with her children, showering them with love, wisdom, and her infectious sense of humor.
Nothing brought Kathy more joy than being a grandmother to her seven grandchildren. While their names are too many to mention here, their presence in Kathy's life brought immeasurable happiness. She loved them unconditionally, laughed with them endlessly, and was their biggest supporter in every adventure they pursued.
Kathy was a dedicated and passionate teacher, impacting the lives of countless students throughout the years. Her patience, warmth, and dedication touched the hearts of those she taught. She believed in the power of education and instilled a love for learning in her students that they will carry throughout their lives.
On January 3, 2024, Kathy peacefully passed away from old age, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. While our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in knowing that Kathy is now reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her.
Preston and Sons Funeral Home of Manassas is serving the Owens Family. Arrangements are the the care of Funeral Director and Manager Tonya Sanderson who is handling them with respect and sympathy.
Let us remember Kathy for her infectious laughter, her unwavering love for her family, and her ability to always find the silver lining. Although she may be physically gone, her spirit lives on in each of us. Rest in peace, dear Kathy, knowing that you were deeply loved and will always remain in our hearts.
