Baker, Carolyn J. Carolyn J. (Mazzarella) Baker, 61, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away peacefully on January 16, 2017. She was born on June 9, 1955, in Ann Arbor, MI. After a short time in Rockford, IL, her family later moved to La Jolla, CA where she spent most of her young adulthood. After moving to Arizona and raising her family, she still loved taking yearly family vacations to San Diego; the beach was always her home. She was an avid gardener, jewelry maker, and loved horror movies, especially anything with zombies. Carolyn was known for her generous and thoughtful nature. She will be fondly thought of by her selfless love for her family and friends. To those in her neighborhood, she will be remembered for her work in the Yavapai Elementary School cafeteria. She joins in the afterlife with her father, Robert Moore, and brother, David Moore. Her family that will always keep her in their hearts are mother Joanne Moore of La Jolla, CA, sister Nancy Moore from Boise, ID, husband John Baker; children Joey Mazzarella (Vanessa), David Mazzarella (Tiana), Darla Demery (Jon), and Jeremy Baker; her beloved grandchildren Dante and Madison Demery, and her gentle pitbull dog Lola, whom she adored, cousin Wendy McKay (Kraig), as well as many nieces and nephews from the McCullough and Mazzarella families. A memorial honoring her life will be held at New Life Community Church on Saturday, February 25, 2017, 11 a.m., at 2500 N. Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85257.
