CENTERVILLE, OHIO — Carolyn Sever Baumhardt, 91, of Centerville, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016.
Carolyn was born on Sept. 3, 1925 in Eaton, to Ralph (WWI Veteran) and Pauline Sever. She was a dedicated member of Normandy United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Carolyn loved nature, the outdoors, and was fond of traveling to northern Michigan. She enjoyed and was very knowledgeable about antiques and was an avid fan of high school and college sports. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard (WWII Veteran), and her parents. Carolyn is survived by her sister, Jane (Sever) Heywood of Dayton; daughter, Betsy Wacker of Wilton, Connecticut; son, Bruce Baumhardt (Patti) of St. Paul, MN; son, Mark Baumhardt (Kathleen) of West Chester; and daughter, Anne Bowles (Eric) of Wooster; grandchildren, Cal Wacker (CT), Lee Wacker (PA), Adam Baumhardt (CO), Alex Baumhardt (MN), Kara and Meghan Baumhardt (OH); nieces, Hope (Baumhardt) Stetler and Sue (Baumhardt) Innes (OH), Laura Heywood and Sarah (Heywood) Bugden (OH), Joyce DuCoty (GA) and nephew, Scott Heywood (WY).

The family thanks the nurses and staff of Bethany Village-BRC for their loving care. A funeral service to celebrate Carolyn's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, at Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 W. Alex Bell Rd. Centerville, OH 45459 with Rev. Jim Riggs officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.
