STEWARTSTOWN Carole Jean (Pack) Thompson, 73, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015, in her home with family by her side. She was born on July 2, 1942, in Long Beach, Calif., to the late Ray and Dorothy (McVey) Pack. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, at Round Hill Presbyterian Church, 7362 Church Road in Felton. The Rev. Dr. Chester V. Joines will officiate. Carole loved to do all crafts and excelled at everything she did, from baking her notorious nut rolls to making ceramic decorations, to making Halloween costumes, for which she won several competitions. She also carved pumpkins, taught her granddaughters how to apply make-up, and was well versed in traveling. She and her husband, Palmer, traveled to many states including Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Colorado ,and Arizona. Carole's passion was being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker who took great care of her family. She touched countless lives being a selfless, giving woman who would do anything she could for anyone. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Palmer Thompson; three children, Donna Riddle and her husband, Todd, Gerald Thompson and his wife, Jennifer, and Laura Thompson; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Pack and his wife, Phyllis and John Pack; three sisters-in-law, June Nolasso and her husband, Frank, Rowean Eckert, and Emily Pitt and her husband, Robert; and one brother-in-law, James Thompson and his wife, Janet. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews. J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, is assisting the family.
