Carol Jean Harless, age 50, of National City passed away suddenly on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012 at McLaren – Bay Region in Bay City.She was born on May 14, 1962 in Evanston, Ill., the daughter of the late Mary (McLane) Behrens. Carol was united in marriage with Don Harless in June of 2000 and he survives her. Carol had a wonderful personality with a sparkling sense of humor and lived for spending time with her family. She loved her cat, Zippy, attending church, reading, drinking tea, camping, traveling and NASCAR racing. Carol was a member of Lake Huron Community Church of East Tawas. Carol is survived by her loving husband, Don; two children, Philip Barrons and Justin and Raina Barrons, all of National City; three grandchildren, Derek and Alexander Barrons, and Ginny Barnes, who affectionately referred to her as "Kitty Grandma;" three siblings, Mike and Audrey Behrens of Caro, Linda Behrens of Cincinnati, Ohio and Doug Behrens of Knoxville, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Mary (McLane) Behrens on March 30, 2002; and an infant grandson, Michael Barrons. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 5 at Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Cremation followed the service with burial at a later date in Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro.
