Carol R. FarrellWappingers Falls - Carol Rose Farrell of Wappingers Falls passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2017, after a long illness. She was 74.Daughter of the late Peter and Mary Cannova, she was born on August 20, 1943 in Brooklyn. She married her high school sweetheart, William T. Farrell, at St. Gregory the Great Church in Bellerose, NY on September 5, 1964. Mr. Farrell preceded her in death, passing on December 17, 2011.Carol graduated from Martin Van Buren High School in 1961. She went on to earn a degree in Nursing from Kings County Hospital. She worked as an ER Nurse for Vassar Brothers Hospital for 30 years. In her spare time, Carol was active in the Town of Wappinger Little League and volunteered at Mt. Alvernia Retreat Center.Survivors include her sons, William P. Farrell and his wife, Jill of San Diego, CA and Peter C. Farrell and Mitzy Folster of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristen, Taylor, David, and James; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband and parents, Carol was predeceased by her sister, Joan Frati.Family will receive their friends on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Mother of the Church, Jackson Street in Fishkill.
