Calvin "Cal" HenryThousand Oaks, CACalvin "Cal" Henry, 78, passed away Tuesday October 3, 2017 in the hospital from prostate cancer. Calvin, the 8th of 10 children, was born on January 1, 1939 to Percy and Elnora of Fairhope, Alabama. He served in the Navy. He achieved a Master's of Science in Mathematics from South West University in 1976. As an aerospace engineer he began his own company Logtech in Newbury Park. He married twice, first to Barbara in 1961 and Karen in 1989. He enjoyed traveling, camping, entertaining notably gumbo for New Year's Eve and barbecue on the Fourth of July. Cal was a great storyteller, avid golfer, sports enthusiast and political vigilant. He gave of his time and money to numerous charities.Calvin is survived by wife Karen, sister Mary "Tootsie," son Todd aka Sulaiman (Nasima), daughters Anne, Donna (Wayne), Kathleen (John), Sonja (Paul), and Gretchen (Kevin), grandchildren Alane, Donovan, Cameron, Nafeesa, Ellis, Joshua, Aimee, Emily and Peter, two great-grandchildren, numerous relatives and friends. He is predeceased by son David.Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday October 20 at Griffin Family Funeral Chapels, 101 E. Wilbur Road, Thousand Oaks. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 21 at Christian Church of Thousand Oaks, 301 W.
