RICHMOND- Burton C. Harrington, 81, of Swamp Rd., died Friday, November 18 at Berkshire Medical Center, following a brief illness.He was born on January 29, 1935 in Tyringham, MA, the son of James and Dora Grover Harrington; he attended Pittsfield High School.Burton worked as a mason, through his craft he built many homes. He was the owner of Blue Heaven Turkey Farm. Prior to his passing he was one of the caretakers for the Berger Estate. He was a member of the Immanuel Community Church.Burton enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, humming a tune and playing the harmonica. He enjoyed a good game of checkers and pitch, trips to Naples, FL, baseball, hunting and had a great love of anything chocolate.He volunteered at the Richmond Fire Department, drove for senior transportation services and dedicated his time to running Alanon meetings. Burton was a volunteer with the Good News Singers, who performed at local nursing homes.He is survived by his wife the former Mary Etta North whom he married April 3, 1952, children Burt Harrington Jr. and his wife Mary, Bill Harrington Sr. and his wife Susan, Jeff Harrington Sr., Joe Harrington Sr. and his wife Jackie, Kathy Hillman and her husband Bill, fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, siblings Mary Shoemaker and her recently deceased husband Al, William Harrington and his recently deceased wife Shirley, Tom Harrington and his wife Carmela, Dora Mazzeo, John Harrington Sr. and his wife Kathleen and sister in law Evelyn Harrington. He was predeceased by his son Jimmy Harrington and siblings George, Robert, Madeline, Clayton and James. He was recently predeceased by his grandson Joe Harrington Jr.FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for Burton C.
