Brent Torrel Dechields-ElSalisbury-Brent Torrel DeShields-EL of Salisbury, MD, was born on August 29, 1977 to Paulette Hayward and Ronald DeShields. He passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the age of thirty-nine (39). Brent was employed by the United States Postal Service, where he loved his job and his co-workers, who cherished him. Brent graduated from Wicomico Senior High in Salisbury, Maryland in 1996. He attended Wor-Wic Community College and earned an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice in 2002. In 2005, Brent graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Philosophy. "I don't see myself being special, I just see myself having more responsibilities than the next man. People look to me to do things for them, and to have answers"Brent is survived by: his mother, Paulette Hayward; step father, Kenneth Burton, Sr., by whom he was raised; one son, Brian Moore; two sisters, Nikisha DeShields and Briee DeShields Johnson; one brother, Kenneth Burten, Jr.; two nephews, Keon-Jay DeShields and Daekwon DeShields; three nieces, Ja'brel (Jab) Maddox, Avisia DeShields, (The Queen) and Alexis Robinson (Bad Baby). Service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1pm at Bennie Life Center with viewing one hour prior to service.
