Bob Casey passed away on Thursday, March 13th, 2014. He was born on July 25th, 1932 in Binghamton , New York. He is survived by his wife, Eileen Casey; his son, Sean Casey; and his daughter, Genevieve Casey. Bob moved to Juneau with his wife, Eileen, and his daughter, Genevieve, on July 31st, 1990. He was a Federal Mine Inspector with the Department of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration. His work brought him to Alaska and he was the sole inspector for Alaska until his retirement in 1997.Bob loved being with family and friends. He was known to be the best coffee maker for meetings. His favorite hobby was going to the Alaska Club, to which he went daily.Bob's funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul's Church on Thursday, March 20th at 12:00pm, followed by a reception in the parish hall. All are welcome to attend.There will be a private burial at the Shrine of St. Therese for family members. In lieu if flowers, a donation could be made to the Gastineau Humane Society or St. Paul's Parish.
