SmithBlythe Smith passed away on August 1, 2017. She will be deeply missed by many. Blythe was born on May 15, 1956 to Wayne and Sallie Donahue. She graduated from O'Gorman High School in 1974. She received her bachelor degree in social work from Montana State University in 1978. She met the love of her life Roger Smith. They were married on May 25, 1979. She went back to school and got her bachelor degree in special education. She taught for several years at the Children's Home Society. She started and ran Your House for Coffee. She was an artist and helped raise money for several charities. Her talents also extended into many other areas. She was a longtime member of AA and helped countless people gain their sobriety. She is survived by her husband, Roger Smith; one brother, Wayne Donahue (Peggy), her sister, Shelley Johnson (Mark), her sister, Faith Mills (Rob); mother-in-law, Louise Smith, brother-in-law, Richard Smith, sister-in-law Karen Cross (Ray), sister-in-law, Nancy Giere (David), sister-in-law, Linda Smith, along with many nieces and nephews.The family wishes that memorials be directed to
the Salvation Army, Bowden Youth Center or The Banquet.A memorial service will begin at 7:00 pm Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at West Side Lutheran Church, 3901 Oklahoma Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57107. A visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
