HOUGHTON - Blanche A. Weaver, of 7817 Tucker Hill Road, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday (Nov. 22, 2016) at home. She was born on April 1, 1936, in Sutherland, Neb., a daughter of the late Oscar and Hazel Cather. She married Glenn O. Weaver, who predeceased her April 6, 2011.Mrs. Weaver taught a range of school grades and subjects in Colorado, California, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and North Carolina. She was a member of the Houghton Wesleyan Church.Surviving are her children, Robert (Lorie) Weaver of Piscataway, N.J., Jon (Susan) Weaver of Fairview, N.C., Gwen (David) Mercer of Houghton and Karen (Mitchell) Liddick of Fillmore; nine grandchildren; a brother, James Cather of Manitou Springs, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.Family and friends may gather from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Houghton Wesleyan Church, where a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 3, 2016).
